Each full-time faculty member will complete a professional development plan by May 1 for the following academic year. Adjunct faculty are strongly encouraged to complete a professional development plan if they intend to request funds to participate in a professional development opportunity.

Professional development is learning and training that helps instructors grow in their teaching and work. By continuing our own education, we support our students and strengthen our community.

Professional Development plans may address these specific objectives or expected outcomes with recpect to the following components:
- Content knowledge and skills in discipline/program.
- Teaching methods and instructional strategies.
- Related work experience.
- Study apporopriate to the higher education enviroment.
- Service to the college and the greater community.
